Surya Nepal’s contribution in Infrastructural Development
SNPL has always recognized its social responsibility, right from the beginning when it was established in Simara, Bara around 18 years ago. Our involvement with local community began when we donated around 3.5 bighas of land to Simara Village to establish the market (the present Simara bazaar).
We also supported VDC to repair the main road towards Simara Airport. Likewise, our Leaf Tobacco Development unit also supported the construction of rural roads and culverts in villages. With our support, more than 500 families are able to access the safe drinking water facilities in the Ramban cluster.
Welfare Activities
The welfare of its people has always been a major area of concern for Surya Nepal. To ensure a better quality of life for its employees, it built Surya Niwas, a modern housing colony at Simara that combines local building traditions with twentieth-century comforts.
Besides housing, Surya Nepal also concerns itself with enriching the lives of its employees and their families. Literacy programmes have achieved 100% employee literacy as against 30% ten years ago.
A vocational center has opened doors to new employment opportunities and transformed dependents into contributing members. Regular health camps are held through the year.
Ethical Business
As a responsible corporate citizen of Nepal, we seek to hear and respond to the concerns of workers making our products.
